Este Domingo 3 de Cuaresma, en el Ciclo A, la Iglesia nos llama a reconocer nuestra sed interior y a responder con fe, oración y caridad. En este tiempo de conversión, la liturgia nos invita a mirar nuestro desierto cotidiano, a abrirnos a la gracia de Dios y a descubrir en Jesucristo la fuente de agua viva que sacia toda hambre. Las lecturas de hoy nos invitan a confiar en la presencia de Dios incluso cuando los signos no son evidentes, a entender que la vida nueva nace de la fe y del amor derramado en el corazón por el Espíritu. A través del Evangelio de la samaritana, la Iglesia nos recuerda que la salvación es para todos y que la misión nace del encuentro con Cristo.
Texto breve (paráfrasis de 5-8 versículos): En Refidim, el pueblo reclama agua, diciendo que los sacó de Egipto para morir de sed. Moisés clama a Dios, y Dios le ordena pasar delante del pueblo con los ancianos y golpear la peña en Horeb para que brote agua. El lugar recibe los nombres de Massá y Meriba, signo de la prueba que hizo dudar a Israel de la presencia de Jehová entre ellos.
Explicación (aprox. 150 palabras): Este pasaje sitúa la experiencia de la sed como una prueba de la fe. El pueblo, cansado y quejoso, descubre que la fe no consiste en la ausencia de desiertos, sino en la confianza en la acción de Dios en medio de ellos. Moisés, al invocar al Señor, revela la necesidad de dependencia de la alianza con Dios en momentos de prueba. La milagrosa provisión de agua de la roca prefigura la gratuidad de la gracia y la presencia de Dios que sostiene la vida. El nombre Massá y Meriba recuerda que la tentación puede conducirnos a la incredulidad, pero también a reconocer que Dios está presente incluso cuando la experiencia dice lo contrario.

Antífona: Si hoy oyereis su voz, no endurezcáis vuestro corazón.
Salmo: 95(94),1-2.6-7.8-9: Venid, aplaudamos al Señor, aclamemos al roca de nuestra salvación; miremos su rostro para adorarlo. Porque el Señor es un Dios grande, y un gran Rey sobre todos los dioses. En la asamblea de los pueblos, inclina tu oído; venid, adoremos y postrémonos, bendiciendo al Señor que nos ha hecho. Hoy, si oyereis su voz, no endurezcáis vuestro corazón.
Reflexión breve: Este salmo invita a una adhesión gozosa y consciente al Señor, fuente de vida. En la Cuaresma, la llamada es a escuchar su voz con el corazón abierto, sin apatía ni cálculo. La respuesta de fe no es una emoción pasajera, sino una decisión de worship en espíritu y verdad, que se traduce en vida de oración, conversión y servicio. La antífona nos recuerda que la salvación es un don que se recibe y se comparte.
Texto breve (paráfrasis de 5-8 versículos): Justificados por la fe, tenemos paz con Dios por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. A través de la fe accedemos a la gracia en la que vivimos y esperamos la gloria de Dios. El amor de Dios ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo que se nos ha dado. En la medida en que éramos pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros, demostrando la inmensidad de su amor y la esperanza que nace de ese don gratuito.
Explicación (aprox. 150 palabras): San Pablo presenta la salvación como una realidad ya dada en la fe: la justificación abre el camino a la paz y a la gracia que nos sostienen en la vida, incluso en medio de la fragilidad humana. La experiencia del amor de Dios no es meramente emocional; es una realidad operante en el Espíritu que habita en nuestros corazones. La cruz aparece como acto decisivo: Cristo muere por nosotros cuando aún éramos pecadores, manifestando un amor que no depende de nuestro rendimiento. Exégesis (aprox. 200 palabras): En este pasaje, Jesús rompe barreras culturales y religiosas al dialogar con una mujer samaritana, una mujer marginada por su género y por su origen. El diálogo revela que la verdadera adoración no está ligada a un lugar, sino a la verdad y al Espíritu. Jesús se revela como la fuente de agua viva, invitando a una experiencia transformadora que rompe estiglos; la mujer pasa de la curiosidad a la fe y, como testigo, lleva a otros a conocer a Cristo. El mandato de la cosecha subraya que la misión de Jesús ya está en marcha y que los discípulos deben participar del anuncio, incluso cuando el regalo del agua viva supera las expectativas humanas. La narración invita a vivir una fe que se comparte, que provoca encuentro y que transforma comunidades.
Conexión entre las lecturas
Las tres lecturas apuntan a la misma realidad: una sed que sólo la gracia de Dios puede saciar. En Exodo, la roca que brota agua anticipa la gracia en Cristo; en Rom 5, la fe abre la experiencia de la gracia y el amor de Dios derramado en el corazón; en Jn 4, la conversación con la samaritana revela que la salvación llega a todos y que la vida en el Espíritu sacia la verdadera sed. El hilo común es la experiencia del amor de Dios que transforma y convoca a la misión: beber de la fuente y compartir el agua viva con quienes nos rodean.
Para llevar a la vida — Reflexión
Orar cada día pidiéndole a Dios la gracia de reconocer nuestras sed y recibir su agua viva en la oración y la palabra.
Buscar oportunidades para testimoniar la presencia de Cristo, especialmente a quienes se sienten marginados o desconfiados de la Iglesia.
Practicar gestos de servicio concreto: bebida, comida o ayuda a quien lo necesite, como signo de la misericordia que Cristo derrama en nosotros.
